The Taiwanese government has entered into reciprocal arrangements under a Working Holiday Scheme with New Zealand (April 2004) and with Australia (November 2004) to enhance Taiwan's youth exchanges with these two countries, and to increase mutual understanding. The National Youth Commission (NYC) is a Taiwanese government agency which specialises in youth development. The Taiwanese government has dedicated significant resources to assist in developing a safe and friendly environment for international youth travelers who visit Taiwan.
